Already A Notary?
Who We Are
We are a Professional Membership Association of commissioned civil law notary publics, who’ve joined together to promote continuing education and ethics in all acts where a notary public is involved. Louisiana is unique in that our courts are based upon Civil Law, rather than the Common Law that can be found in every other state in the union.
The Louisiana Civil Law Notary can draft, prepare and execute affidavits, acknowledgements and authentic acts. Louisiana Civil Law provides for much of our legal documentation to be passed by a notary, a public official who has qualified for a commission authorizing those powers.
Our History
In 1999 this organization began as a vision of our founder, Tim Estes, who became a notary in 1995 and soon found that more education was needed.
About PCLNA
Our goal for Notaries is all about Education because we believe that education is the key to a successful career as a notary in Louisiana.
